I drove it 79 miles back to my place. The original 250 ran like a sewing machine. The only two downfalls are the new stepside bed and the rear has been converted to leaf springs. Atleast its solid, which is rare for se georgia. this truck must have been kept away before the last person got ahold to it. all original interior and sanded and primed outside. tell me what you think.

That bed is a later model it is not a 68 stepper. But it works I guess.

Re: 68 swb "parts truck" turned resto

ordered my windshield rubber and all the door rubber. hopefully it will get here soon.

I still have a few more purchases to make, like a rear bumper(scratched the roll pan idea) and floor material.

I do have a couple of questions.

1. Has anyone messed with the rubber flooring from www.automotiveinteriors.com? They say it is 1/8 thick and comes with the jute padding. $125 for the flooring and $26 bucks shipped.

2. Does anyone have Hagerty insurance and is it any good? Just curious, I like bundling, and my auto and home insurance is thru State Farm. The only thing is my previous 68's insurance was expensive. THEY list my truck as a high casualty risk, b/c it doesn't have ABS or airbags, crumple zones, etc.

installed the rear glass and windshield.

This was my first attempt ever. No broken glass, I would say it was a success.

Re: 68 swb "parts truck" turned resto

The flooring also came in. I have it laying in my spare bedroom floor so it will regain its shape. It is an 1/8 in thick and came with the jute insulation. Not bad for $125.

Thanks. I am horrible at taking pictures in the middle of working on it. There is so much I have skipped. Like the rebuild of the vent windows, etc.

Looks awesome! What else do you have left on it to finish up? It looks like you've been driving it.
