I don't even know if i'm doing this right, but here goes...

I got lucky and fell into a pickup I wasn't looking for. And I love it!
A 1969 C 20 3/4 ton Longhorn. All original. 350 and sm 465 trans. I don't know yet on the rear end. It's an Eaton with the pinion bolt, but I've read that both 52's and 72's had the bolt, so ??? It's been well serviced since it was new as I'm the third owner, with paper to prove it. It even had the original warranty folder in the jockey box filled out by the original purchaser 30 miles from where I live, and the dealership is still in business.
If anyone knows a visual difference between 52 and 72 diffs, I would appreciate it.

Its partly the size of the drums and brake shoes but also the axles have 2 weight ratings 5,200-7,200 from what i gather.

All of your links are great. I'm sure now it's a 52. i'm very confident in the drum brakes and won't try to change them. I'm not sure of the ratio yet, but suspect a 4:10. I can take off in 3rd from a stop sign, so I don't wish for gears any shorter. I'm still working on my 1st tank of gas, so don't know the mpg yet, but not expecting much. Good enough to haul what I need and fun to drive to boot!

Your links have answered a lot of my questions. It's fun to read a lot of stuff on here, as some of you guys are really sharp about this stuff.
I'm pretty sure I'll never get around to a full restoration on my pick up. I'll be the old fart driving it around about 45 mph enjoying the scenery, listening to the AM radio, ( I miss Paul Harvey ). I'll just keep polishing the " natural patina " paint job and keep the heater working!
The wife wants to buy a little "Glamper" and do some overnighters.
I'm enjoying my youth again!
