Headliner Install

Anyone have any tips having done it before?

Today I tried installing the front trim, then loading up the backside and the roof with 3M adhesive spray. Let it tack up, but it couldn't hold itself in place against gravity.

Barring a better idea, I'm going to try contact cement. But I'd sure like to hear from someone who's done it successfully before how they went about it, what trim in what order, how to hold it up and so on.

Thanks!

Re: Headliner Install

I did one by applying the 3m spray adhesive to both sides and letting it tack 5-10 minutes. I then installed a couple of "stiff legs" made from some scrap 2" pvc pipe to hold it up. I also had a piece of scrap 1/8" plywood i had cut roughly the size of the headliner and put it on top of the pvc to distribute the weight. I installed the trim after the glue dried.

It really works well it will never sag. The PO did it, I did not think I was ever going to get it down
