Should have seen that coming but with being a diesel I thought it might have been for something else. Just got the truck and haven't had time to tear into yet.

That would be the vent hole for an A/C equipped cab. The non A/C cabs and dash bezels don't have a hole there as well as above the heater controls.

Sorry I had a moment there when I asked that. It is an AC cab just not sure why they would have blocked it off. I need to get up under it and see what is going on. Need to pull the cluster bezel. Will probably end up taking the pad as well and just go ahead and get a good look what is all under there. You just never know what people do to these trucks before you get them.

I did the exact same thing in my Suburban. My AC don't work and I filled the hole with sheet metal and put 4 switches in it to control lighting. LOL I thought I had an original idea for once!
