Steering column collar swap

I am wondering what is involved in a swap from my column shift collar to a floorshift coller to eliminate the shift handle. Is is a diect swap or is there some modifications to be done.

I am wondering the same thing and hope it's not too bad. I was even considering taking the auto tilt collar off, grinding the shifter boss off, and filling with some JB Weld or similar. The floor shift tilts are just too hard to come by at a price I'm willing to pay.

I found a 4 speed column and I am just swapping the columns out. I hadn't tried it, but from looks of the assembly manual, you probably could disassemble it and just change columns. Seemed a lot more work thean the 40 I got my column(non-tilt) for.
