Anyone heard of Factory molded in bumpers?

There is an Ebay ad in which the seller has listed that the truck has factory molded in bumpers. The glove box decal lists factory molded in bumpers. They look exactly like aftermarket roll pans that we all have seen in the past. Has anyone ever heard of this as a factory option?

Re: Anyone heard of Factory molded in bumpers?

That's BS,no such thing. A roll pan isn't a bumper anyway.

Re: Anyone heard of Factory molded in bumpers?

One of the worst counterfeit SPID's I have seen.
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-C-...US_Cars_Trucks

The funny thing is that whoever first did the fake SPID likely made it to not try to fool people. If that color paint code is supposed to indicate a color from the year 1984 then they definitely weren't trying to fool anyone.

This guy selling the truck is silly.

Re: Anyone heard of Factory molded in bumpers?

I call BS as well. On the Camaro's it was called an Enduro bumper and would have been called the same on the trucks. Back then trucks where a straight forward work horse. Granted Chevrolet broke that mold with the CST, but it took years to change minds.

Re: Anyone heard of Factory molded in bumpers?

I just did a little searching. Senora Saddle is indeed a 1984 GM color. Clearly the SPID maker wasn't trying to pass off the roll pans as factory, they were just having some fun with their SPID. The goof ball selling the truck isn't paying attention and now looks like a car salesman willing to say anything to flip a truck.

He could have at least added the (real and or fake) RPO codes, just to fill in the boxes.

Good to see another Florida member pop up. That seller is 'uninformed' at best.

What's a "Dual Exhausts?" And it has the super steep 373:1 rear axle!

Very nice truck. Crazy seller, crazy price.

Re: Anyone heard of Factory molded in bumpers?

Well, also notice the tire size???? Radial Metric vs. letter bias. 275/60/15
Then "single track"

I personally like the plural "dual exhausts". Everyone makes spelling mistakes but they should be corrected on documents before print.

Re: Anyone heard of Factory molded in bumpers?

The truck certainently is unique! It even has 1972 doors on it but that isn't listed on the SPID.

I agree with everyone else, I think who ever typed up the SPID was just having fun. I like the truck. I think it is put together very well. Interior looks really good and the Impala steering wheel is a nice touch.

Re: Anyone heard of Factory molded in bumpers?

I built a pro-street '70 Stepside 20 some years ago and made a SPID to look like it was built as it sat. I got lots of conversation off of that! I'm surprised I haven't seen more of that.

Dual exhausts? You have to ask? Why,that would be two or more pipes on each side...DUH?
