Re: Gave it a try an WOW!!
Not sure how much CLR it takes to give your truck a bath. But I've stopped using CLR for anything. I've now switched over to 'The Works' toilet bowl cleaner. Its got a higher concentration of acid than CLR and its cheaper. I haven't tried it on chrome yet though.

LOOKS GREAT!!!!!!! I'm putting off doing the paint in mine cus I may go with the Patina look. If I may ask did you dilute the CLR when you did your aluminum grill an paint? I just did the chrome bumpers, mirrors an door handles on my truck full strength

Re: Gave it a try an WOW!!
Cali, full strength CLR. The Burban was so bad I thought it couldn't hurt. I thought about keeping it "patina" too, but my case just unrestored. When all cleaned up it showed it had some paint respray work done prior and it didn't match well. I actually installed the missing chrome pieces just to see what it would look like. BTW I have no problem using SOS pads and steel wool (0000), especially on chrome. I have used about everything over 30 years time, I like turtle wax chrome cleaner for all bright work.
