Question Air bags leaking down??? Is that normal???

Do your air bags leak down??? If so whats the norm, over night, 1 day, 2 or more or never??? I was told it's normal for them to leak down. So i just want to ask around some users that have bagged trucks!!! Thanks...

Re: Air bags leaking down??? Is that normal???

I have installed several bag set ups and they all will leak down in a matter of time, my most recent install on my 72 I have leak tested the front and haven't dropped at all in a 2 day period. But it's in garage and not out in weather so I haven't got to see if they'll leak with temperature change.

No, that is not "normal". My system set for months with the same air pressure. It did slowly leak down after several months of inactivity. if I cycle it frequently it doesn't leak at all.

where do they usually leak from? mine tends to leak down slowly over a few days! the front more than the rear, i guess that's because of the weight of the motor??? thanks...

Fittings not being sealed, mis cut hoses, valves going bad etc, etc...I'd would spray soapy water around fittings and hoses and look for bubbles and valves as well

Re: Air bags leaking down??? Is that normal???

I had a leak on mine. Did the soapy water test and couldn't find anything. I ran a separate line for a tank pressure gauge, since I only had gauges for the bags. I noticed the tank pressure needle was lowering overnight. Coming to find my check valve was bad.
So f.y.i., it really shouldn't leak much unless it doesn't cycle frequently.
