1/2 or 3/4 ton identification

Im picking up this truck in 2 weeks from a guy who is selling it on craigslist.
He wrote in the ad that the truck is a 3/4 ton c10 and when i went to take a look the fender badges read c10; but to my knowledge c10 = 1/2 and c20 = 3/4 ton.

The truck has seen some work done to it about 10 years ago (new paint, new box, etc.) so i am hoping somebody either swapped front fenders or badges and that it actually is a 3/4 ton. I should have pulled the caps off the wheels and taken a closer look but as i am sure a lot of you know when your excited about looking at a new truck you often forget to do these things.

Can anyone see any clues that would indicate this truck to be a 3/4 ton?

Look at the lugs

6 lugs = 1/2 ton

8 lugs = 3/4 ton


EDIT

also those rims look like 16.5 rims, if so its 8 lug.

Those caps look like 1/2 ton from 76-up, can't be sure though without seeing the lugs.

The caps are for a 1/2 ton, so... Looks like a 1/2 ton to me.

I am looking at the gap between the cap and the rim bead. It seams to be larger than normal. My guess is C20 8 holer. You are opposite of a lot. If they get one that is a C20 they will scrape together the stuff to make it a C10. I am on a 68 GMC going from 3/4 to a short 5lug1/2 ton. Jim

The truck pictured definitely is a 1/2 ton.
You could ask what the VIN # is. If the 4th character is the number 1 it's a 1/2 ton, if it's the number 2 it's 3/4 ton.

haha i know, i actually already own a 69 c10 in the same colour but my plan is to combine the two and make one solid truck.

personally i find these trucks to look the best if they are a strong standing long c20 or if they are a lower standing short c10. Since i am in the longbox league I'm going for a strong standing c20 look. similar to this truck i posted in a separate thread.

When i return in 2 weeks to pick it up i'll find out for sure. The owner is on holidays until then so i'll just have to sit and wait patiently.

I think even if its a true c10 its worth the $1500 he's asking. It comes along with a complete interior, which i need. As well as a great looking front end that is covering a 292 i want to be running; instead of the 250 that sits in my c10.

The rest of the truck is very riddled with rot but every last usable piece i'll part out to somebody.

This is the c10 that i currently own.

I'm thinking that the hubcaps look to be 1/2 ton as well.
