Just how rare is this truck? ('74 K10)
I got a good deal on a '74 K10 at a farm auction a couple weeks ago - and even though it's a flatbed 6 cyl. now, this was one heck of a truck when it rolled off the line.
1974 Chevy Cheyenne Super K10, long bed/fleetside 454/auto Options include PS, PB, A/C, AM/FM, tinted glass, HD shocks, two tone Rosedale red/white, roof marker lights, and a baffling one to me: "delete high energy" option on the SPID. Anybody know how many big block K10's were made in '74?

'74 was first year HEI was available if I remember correct, so a "delete high energy" would likely have been an option for a points-style dist.
Sounds like a sweet truck, would be fun to restore to original.

That's what I figured. Oh, I'd love to see it in its original form, but it'll only be around until spring, if that long. My '85 C3500 Sierra Classic (454/TH400, power everything, white on blue) is my fancy truck.

I think 75 was the first year for HEI in the trucks. My 74, 350 was factory points converted to a transistor ignition.
As for the high energy delete, what is the RPO code?

A very few fullsize Chevy cars had HEI in 1974 but Iv'e never seen or heard of a pickup with it.
