what size mickey thompson wheels? 15x10, 16x10 or 17x9?

not sure what size to go with any pos and negs to either?

truck is an 87 with 4" lift 35's.

if i go with 16s or 17s i can use 315/75 instead of 35x12.50 i'm told these run a little smaller and would rub less on the trails than your normal 35x12.50s.

any op's?

don't own mickey thompson wheels, but if you go off-road & air down, 15's have the best lip to hold the bead.
had 15x8 ralleys with 35x12.50/15 on a 4" lifted blazer with no problems.
15x10's, you might rub, or trim your fenders.
have a set of 16x10's & a set of 16.5x10's for my crew. better weight capacity tires then 15's, but when you go with big tires (36"-37" up), the selection is not there like the 15's & 17"s.
have no real exp. with 17's, other then the toyo's on the wife's suv

don't know what rim your looking at but heres my 17x9 classic II with 315 70 17 hankook dynapro MT. sorry its a newer truck but rim/tire combo is the same idea.

thanks guys! going with wither 15x10 or 17x9's then. Out of those two for a 87 silver ado with a 4" lift and going with 315/75 or 35x12.50 which should i get and why? anything else to note? I'm just scared the 15" wheels will look stupid with a big 35" tire.

Some of the tire shops have a monitor were you select your truck and its color then pick the rim and tire combination and you get a picture of what it looks like.
Mickey Thompson used to sell a really really wide 15 inch tire and it was the best looking thing I have ever seen but they no longer make it.
I was going to go with a show polished 15x12 slot mag on a 74 stepside and a 33x13.5 Baja Claw bias ply.The bias ply tires wear out 3 times quicker but they look awesome.
This is my 90 gmc without a lift and 31 inch Mickey Thompsons on 10 inch centerlines.

naw, 35's look good on 15's
35x12.50/15's on my k5

38.5's & 40's on 16's. you need that massive rubber look on a 4x4. 18's & up look "dainty" on squares

I'm with diesel on this,18s & up do look dainty on a square!! Been running 15x10s on 35s for quite a few years now & they really fit these old trucks for looks.I like them on a practical level too,lots of sidewall when you get into a rutted up lease road.Dont have to worry about wrecking an expensive 18 or 20" rim this way either!!

Remember you'll need 6x5.5 x 139.7 bolt pattern if its a half ton truck and keep an eye on shipping charges.Some will give you a lower price and whack you on the shipping while others give you free shipping.
