triangulated 4 Link/air bag Set ups?
Hey chevy friends, I've got an 85 K20. Truck rides super stiff when it isnt freighted. I want to run a custom 4 link setup, I have all the tools to make it right, and the know how to install it, but I'm not sure if it's what I should do. Here's my goal,
I want the truck to ride on the back roads like a car, but tow like a mac truck. Any tips suggestions, or is this even a good idea? I was figuring I'd run an airbag set up, with shocks not sure if its a good plan or not. what have you guys done? Thanks, Tom |

Re: triangulated 4 Link/air bag Set ups?
Tom,
It's a great idea that is easy to achieve. I normally run a rolling sleeve type of air bag behind the axle. The roolling sleeve type has a nice linear spring rate to provide a nice ride. The main thing is to make sure to get one that has the capacity that you need for your application. I have the same type of setup on my 95 Suburban. You can throw 8 people in it with a trailer hooked up with no problems and still have a great ride unloaded. What do you tow with your truck?

Probably, a load of wood pellets anywhere to an open car trailer. catch 22 i'm in NH and not sure what i can get away with for under carriage modifications. Do you have a 4link set up?

We have a couple different options, you could do a standard 4 link setup or we have the HD weld in 4 link setup. It really depends on how much and how often you are going to using it loaded. On my DD Suburban I have the standard weld in 4 link that does just fine when I am towing. If I was building it for primarily towing I would look at the HD 4 link.
