On the fence?

I currently have two 67-72 trucks. A 68 shortbox that has been given the full PorterBuilt/AccuAir treatment but is still a long ways from being finished. I also have 72-2wd Blazer, it has a mild drop with bigger wheels. I have been thinking about calling it quits on the truck and throwing all the parts at the Blazer. I probably would have done this already if the the 68' wasn't my first truck.

I wouldn't get rid of the rest of the truck, just mothball the good parts.

What would you do?

Oh, if you are going to say leave it stock, don't. That's not my style.

Re: On the fence?

Id say leave it where it's at, I don't really care for dropped trucks but that blazer looks quite nice. I guess the reason I don't like drops is that I think of a truck as a work horse and of it can't even go over a speed bump, it really isn't a workhorse any more

Thanks, I appreciate your opinion. These trucks are and always will be toys. I have a 99 ccsb which I use for hauling and other types of work. Although its lowered as well just not as severely.

Re: On the fence?

If those are your only options that would be tough.

If it were me I would just keep doing what your doing. Maybe slow down on one and start collecting parts for the other, but I wouldnt want to start taking parts from that 68. Thats just going to put you that furthur behind, and that 68 is sahweet.

Thats just my opinion it looks like whatever you do your vehicles are always going to look nice and done right.

I would have a hard time letting either go, but the blazer is rather nice and further along,

Re: On the fence?

Personally if i had both of those trucks given to me id sell the 68, get the blazer done and use the rest of the cash on something else.

Re: On the fence?

I'd swap everything to the blazer. They both look nice but it looks like you'll be further ahead with the blazer for getting a complete truck that have the ride height you want. Both of them look great as is though!

Re: On the fence?

Thanks for th opinions guys. I love this place.

I have a slight update, I told the wife what I was thinking and she told me I was nuts! Finish them both, she said knowing full well that I would probably just start all over on the shortie anyways. She's a keeper

Re: On the fence?

Sell nothing unless your short on cash.
Finish the 68, lots of us would love to have a project like that, and it was your first truck!
Your wife is right.

Wink Re: On the fence?

First off don't get rid of either of them including the wife!

The blazer is pretty much done, drive it and enjoy it while you finish the 68.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: On the fence?

Get to a stopping place on one before starting the next project, don't sell anything it will work out better in the end unless you really don't have a proper place to store all your projects.

Re: On the fence?

Funny, was in a similar situation. Have had my long box since 87, it was my parents before that. Since about 77. But after I realized I could get the look if my truck in a convertible, I always wanted one. Finally picked up a 2wd blazer last year, and was thinking if selling the truck. My wife said not to sell it either. We don't really have the money or space for both. But there is no way we are selling the truck. The blazer? Nah, we'll figure out some way to keep them both.
Both of yours look great by the way.

Your wife has the right idea. If space allows and you aren't hurting financially, there's no reason to offload.

Re: On the fence?

You've got 3 keepers, drive the blazer while your finishing the 68. then turn your attention to the blazer and get it how you want it. But never loose site of who is telling you to keep them both, and make sure you give her plenty of attention! But don't change anything about her, It sound like she perfect just how she is !!!
