the hei swap help?

found a hei dist for my 71 six cylinder, its out of a 78 van. my question is if i drop the new dist. in with the rotor pointing at the same direction as my old dist. rotor was pointing that it should drop right in (with maybe alittle bump of the crank) and my timing should be real close to specs. also wondering if i will have enough room, my fuel line runs between the block and dist.. any past expertise out there?

should fit, may have to tweak or re-run the fuel line. Be sure to feed that thing a good solid 12volts, maybe even use a relay and fuse it with I belive 10amp fuse.
maybee someone can back me up on the fuse rating.

ya don't hook the positive up to the coil cuz you only get 8 volts through it, otherwise you should be fine, but of course there will be some tweaking of the timing, to get your sweet spot
