Youthful enthusiasm can accomplish miracles. We all started somewhere, and for most of us it was on something that required a lot of work and learning.

The 83 front suspension is a great idea and will make you happier once it gets to the driver stage. The following link may answer some question on the swap. You can also do a search on this website, there have many threads on front suspension conversions.

As mentioned above, we all started somewhere and learned and learned and learned.....and tomorrow I'll learn some more.

Glad to see you chose a Chevy for your start as I'm sure most of us did too!

See, all you guys that spent time and money puttin' air bags in an' C notchin' to lower your truck when all ya had to do is let the air outta the tires. That's lowerin' a truck on a budget right there!.

Re: 1960 build

That's too bad the cab got rusted after being sandblasted. Next time be sure to have your primer first and get it primed ASAP after blasting. I would recommend a good epoxy primer.

Don't get discouraged when work on your truck doesn't progress as quickly as you want. It will eventually get done. I still remember when I was your age, it took me about a year and a half just to get a good used engine in my '63 so I could drive it again.

Whenever you need help or advise, there are lots of people here to help you out.

Shim the cab up and the gap will close.
