Will 8" rallys rub ?

I was hoping to run my 8" rallys for the summer because I don’t have a lot of extra money for rims. I will eventually get 17" all around but right now I just want to get it on the road. So what I have is a 2.5 drop spindle and a 1" coil. I am worried about rubbing problems. What tire size should I run? I want there to be a bit of side wall if possible. Just looking for opinions and for the guys out there who have run this setup.

I don't want to rub off My new gloss Black paint on my inner fenders either.

Thanks Mario

I don't think they will rub but a can't say for sure.

A good tire size is 255/60-15. They look great on an 8" rallie. Or even 275/60-15 if you want them a little bigger.

I want a huge tire on the back. I am going to need all of the traction I can get. I was thinking of a 295 for the back.

im running 255/60-15's on my truck.

i think the wheels are wide though--- putting it on a not so wide wheel will make it not so wide

295's will look kinda funky on a 8" rim....you will proably want to go with a 10" rim for a tire tht big.

I have never had tire rub. Even when I am turning A corner and pulling A curb at the same time. I want A 4/6 drop. and I will use the same combo And I would say that I wont have A problem with rub.

I'm running a 255/60/17 on the front of my 72 with a 3 inch drop and not seeing any problems with rubbing, mine hits the bumpstops before it will rub

I'm down 4.5 inches in the front with 8 inch rally wheels. Tires are 245/60/16 front and 275/60/15 rear.

You will not rub with a rally.

My truck had a 6 cylinder in it in this picture, so it's not too low. Big block swap this month will lower it some more.

I was planning on taking my rear rims to a Race Shop. They will widen the rims up to a 15" wide for 150 dollars. I think it would look pretty cool.

You shouldn't have any problem running 295/50-15's with your drop...but you need 10" wide wheels. Kinda hard to see....

I didn't see this earlier but, I have 2.5" spindles 1.5" springs and 8" 4x4 rallies on mine, I also have 255/60/15 bfg's on the front. It does not rub at all. Like said before, It will hit the bumpstops before it rubs.
