Okay! Where did all of the Van tilt columns go?

I need one for my dads truck but we don't have any salvage yards around here with older vehicles. I can't find one anywhere! Have they all disappeared?

Re: Okay! Where did all of the Van tilt columns go?

The trouble with yards like Pick & Pull the vehicle comes in sets in the yard for a short time and then its CRUSHED with lots of good parts still on it

When you think about it, How many 70's & 80's vans had tilt wheel's and this is 20 - 35 years later.

Sad part is a lot of the smaller older yards are closing.

Use the phone and call yards like LQK they have a network of yards all over the country and they ship between them.

Yeah I'm gonna try them tomorrow for sure. From what I'm reading, I can use a 1970-1979?

Don't overlook the motorhomes. Older ones used gm columns , tilt and ignitions in the dash.

This is where I have found a few. Of course I have an advantage with a neighbor that dismantles old motorhomes and camp trailers

Re: Okay! Where did all of the Van tilt columns go?

The pull a parts was open today and they have a bunch of 70-77 trucks but none of them has a tilt wheel in it and what they do have isn't in the greatest condition.
