Exclamation Under Bed Mount tank question

I have a question about this nipple on the side of the tank i purchased. My best guess is its a return line or a tank vent. but I'm not sure if it is necessary to use or if you just block them off to prevent crap from getting into your tank? below is a picture of the tank, and the other deal is a roll over vent valve please tell me what you all think.

17 gallon rear mount lmc tank

Re: Under Bed Mount tank question

What that looks like to me is a vent. What I did with mine was attach a couple of feet of fuel hose to the nipple and put a cheep fuel filter on the end. Took a couple of ty-wraps to hold it above the tank near the fender mounted filler. But I do like the the roleover vent.

Re: Under Bed Mount tank question

You should put a foot or so length of fuel line on it and then get you a differential vent and put it on there so no bugs and moisture get in. Be sure to put it higher than your tank though

Re: Under Bed Mount tank question

I have the same stainless vent on the water tank of my boat. Bugs and spiders dont get into it.
