Will chevell rear springs work to lower the truck?
Ive got a 67 c10 with coil springs all the way arround. l have already lowered it 2 in the front and 3 in the rear, and i want it lower. I am trying to go as cheap and as low as possible. I have heard Chevelle rear springs will bolt right up and drop the rear arround 4 inches.
Is it true, and if it is what model chevells? |

Re: Will chevell rear springs work to lower the truck?
68-72 "A" body springs will work, (Chevelles, Buick Skylarks, Olds, etc.) and it will lower your truck. My friend put them on his stepside and it lowered the rear by 2-3". It will cut the hauling capacity down but the truck rides pretty nice with the springs in it.

I'm not sure how much it'll lower it but I'd look for wagon or El Camino springs.

Re: Will chevell rear springs work to lower the truck?
I would just buy the proper lowering springs. I heard Jeep wrangler springs did the same thing...4" drop. Nope, not at all. Same height, just a weaker rate and a bouncier ride.

Used them on mine. Load capacity went way down but I dont' haul with mine anyways and it rides like a caddy on 22's!

Re: Will chevell rear springs work to lower the truck?
I have used 2002 Jeep Wrangler springs. The truck sits about 1 1/2 - 2 inches lower and rides great. These springs are readily available since there are quite a lot of lifted Jeeps in my area. You may be able to get them real cheap from an off road shop. (Just another option).

Rear coil springs from a 96-99 ford taurus station wagon will drop ya 4.5 to 5 inches
