Need input/suggestions on suspension for 1954 3100
Just purchased a 1954 Chevy 3100 and after a week of reviewing many forums, visiting vendor sights, I'm still unsure with which suspension to go with. As soon as I think I found one product, I read about a new product...
Hopefully there are some folks on here that might have some ideas and set me down the right path. What I want: Front and rear suspension upgrades over current stock suspension--I want the truck lowered, and be able to drive lowered, without having a stiff ride--with the option of someday upgrading to bags. Truck has an inline 6 in it now, but again, want the flexibility of upgrading this to a v8 someday. This will be a daily driver, not a show car, so I don't need the expensive components--just the best bang for the buck. Thoughts? Suggestions? Questions? Thank you, Ralf |

I'd do a drop axel in the front, can probably add bags later. It wont be as nice as a mustange II IFS but alot cheaper check out this thread

Thanks all.
I since gone ahead and ordered me a Heidts hub to hub kit off ebay last week. Mustang II IFS with 2" drop spindles, shocks and springs, w/power rack and pinion. Just seem like a too good of a deal to pass up for the price w/free shipping. We shall see how it goes... |
