Ordering New Springs/Lift Inquiry

I have a 1970 C20 which has stoked everything. I am a tall person and would like to level out my truck with a small lift (1'' or 2'').

I am new to suspension, but have been reading that I can have new springs made to provide this height. If this is true, what other parts would I need to alter, in order to have these springs work correctly?

Or can I simply replace stock springs with new springs?

Thanks for all the help, I appreciate this forum so much.

Re: Ordering New Springs/Lift Inquiry

Are you trying to raise the front, rear, or both?
New springs would be a good start.

Lolife:

I am wanting to level out the front with the back. I am taller and need a stronger stance for ease of entering/exiting the truck. It has a small block in it.

Also, while I have you, if you don't mind...I have been reading a ton about front disc brakes and appreciate all your threads. I have the 70 front crossmember and wanted to ask you a question...

I am not super excited about buying a conversion kit, I would prefer to buy the front end and back end from a truck that has the disc brakes, but is a direct bolt in situation.

Does that exist for my truck? I read a lot of material but because I have never done this, I second guess what I am understanding. So if I were to do a front and rear swap, what years are direct bolt ins?

Thanks for helping me on both questions.

Re: Ordering New Springs/Lift Inquiry

Or am I thinking off base by wanting to swap front and rear ends, but should really do the kits?
