350 Iroc motor in a c10?
Friend of mine was wondering could he put a 350 motor from an 1988 Iroc in his 75 c10 without much trouble? Would it be compatible with his tranny? His mom has the car just sitting at her house and he wants to swap out the motor.

Do it, its not hard. The most difficult thing is running the fuel lines and making a non returnless fuel system into a return system. Pull everything to include the wiring harness. You can also go standalone, which is what I did. TPI does look cool :]

Re: 350 Iroc motor in a c10?
You guys are local to me Slam59, I have a TPI setup you guys can check out if you want. The tune isn't finished yet, but its drivable and lately I've been driving it a lot. When I have some free time you guys are more than welcome to bounce ideas off of me or see how I went about accomplishing it. My stand alone is fully tuneable by me via laptop, and Ill warn you that it takes some time and a lot of patience. To simplify it would be best to use the stock ecu and wiring from the donor car. I have a swappers guide you guys can check out as well.

Re: 350 Iroc motor in a c10?
My 84 had return lines so it was a piece of cake.. just connected the trucks steel lines to the irocs before the fuel rail..Replace all rubber with fuel injection rubber lines...Stand alone harness took about 5 minues to install..Plug and Play!!

Re: 350 Iroc motor in a c10?
His 75 has no smog and it is a 4 wheel drive, does that make a difference? He will be running 37's on it I believe. Thanks for the insight Jabes. Yeah that would be cool check out one day when you are not busy.

Re: 350 Iroc motor in a c10?
75' should be similar to mine with no smog. You will have to make a return line, I was able to utilize the stock sending unit. Exhaust is another story... you need an O2 bung welded in, although you may be able to use some of the existing exhaust off the Camaro as well. TPI's are perfect for trucks in that they build low rpm usable torque. I think he will be happy with it. I'd use the 700r4 that's behind the TPI as well and he'll enjoy a boost in MPG. With the low 1st gear of the 700r4 that will make him happy as well.
