Tranny Problems

well ive been haveing some trouble with my tranny on my 87, it has a TH700-R4. well lately it has not been wanting to shift out of first, and it will stay in first all the way up to 5500-6000 and then if i let off sometimes it will shift into second once its in second its fine. But what gets me is that if im stopped and floor it i take of fine so my trannys not slippin it seems like its an adjustment or something. but i dont know

any help would be great.

First thing I would do it to re adjust the TV Cable...It's VERY important that this be done correctly.....
