Thru the Firewall

I am pulling apart a 1972 A/C cab and was curious about the speedometer cable, the parking brake cable and the wiring bundle right next to the parking brake cable as shown in the picture. Do I need to disassemble those cables or just pull them through the firewall with the rubber grommet? Any help would be appreciated! Also, are all the firewall rubber grommets available new and which vendor would you recommend. Thanks.

Re: Thru the Firewall

Just use a screwdriver to gently break the seal arount the grommet and the push the grommet thru the firewall. The ends of the cables (elect., park, and spedo) will have more than enough room, as far as I could remember anyway. I like GMC Pauls. I have not bought all the replacement grommets yet, but I'm sure they will have them.

Did you ever find factory replacement grommets? Where at?

Someone on here may be able to answer your question but JJanzen himself hasn't been on the board since 8/8/13.

Just a heads up.
