I can't help with the cable, but I'm just wondering why the truck & sub are different? I always thought that the truck & sub frames were the same. ie: without the body shell, they are the same? are you sure the length difference isn't between 2wd & 4wd? I could see that. When I got my truck, the e-brake was actually working, and complete, so I never had to replace any parts.
