Re: Tornados

Please dont forget to add the people in the Philippines in your prayers. My wife is from Tacloban, the hardest hit area. Her mother lost her house and everything in it. Another cousin along with his wife and three children didnt survive. There are still about 5 more relatives that have not been heard from as of last night. The entire town is wiped out, and food, water and medicine is very hard to get. Even the hospitals were destroyed. Right now the family is staying at my wifes mothers house, or whats left of it. They have built a short wall and used pieces of the roof to make a lean to. This is what they are sleeping under without bedding or even blankets. The family is trying to get out of Tacloban and travel to Cebu to be with other family, and will try to build temporary housing.

Re: Tornados

We must have been on the edge of the storm here in Southeast Michigan.

Super high winds (no tornados, thankfully) knocked the power out for about 36 hours. Lots of branches on the ground and a couple big trees down but they didn't fall on anything.

The pre-production build shops here at work have locker rooms with showers, so I got dressed in the dark and showered here Monday morn. Power was back on by the time I got home.

All in all - no complaints here.

Re: Tornados

Thank you all for your continued prayers for my wifes family in Tacloban, Philippine Islands. All we know for now is that one brother walks to the airport early every morning and brings back one bag of supplies every evening. My mother in law is a strong woman. She told me about how she was a little girl in 1942 and when Japannese planes bombed her village, then the next day they came into the school and took all the text books and the principal. The next day they came back with new text books and then took as much food as they could carry. When I went to Tacloban to ask permission to marry her daughter, she grilled me for two hours before she gave us her blessing. I came out of there feeling like I had just completed basic training. My wifes sister is in Manilla trying to box up food and medicine for the family. The military is taking family members into Tacloban, but she is waiting until she can get the meds my mother in law needs. Hopefully she will make it there in the next couple of days.

Again, thank you everyone for your prayers for the people of the Philippines, the victims of the tornados here in the US and for the military personel that work so hard, and miss sleep so that we may sleep safely at night. God bless you all. Billy and Donna
