Re: started to run fuel lines
I feel ya truckdude. I wanted all black fittings, and ten minutes later I threw that Idea out the window. Sadly, unless you want to order EVERYTHING from someone $$ like Aeroquip, you'll end up getting stuff from a few different companies, and at some point, it won't match.
I knew a dude who went and had all his fittings anodized purple to match, but can't say I would ever go to that length myself.

Re: started to run fuel lines
When I did mine I bought all steel braided teflon lines thinking it would hold up longer than steel braided rubber. Didn't know that you need specific fittings for telfon... Instead of getting all new fittings I just bought rubber line. Still wasted $50 or so though.

Re: started to run fuel lines
I had already cut the line and tried to thread the fittings. It kept leaking and I couldn't figure out why for the life of me. I thought I just sucked at making fuel lines haha

Re: started to run fuel lines
So how short was the line from where you needed it? If it was more than a foot and you had left overs from when you cut it. You could have just put 2 more fittings on with a flare union if that was a cheaper route to go.

Re: started to run fuel lines
I am sure another fuel filter would have been much more money, but would have taken up the slack

Re: started to run fuel lines
Sucks having to buy parts twice, but that's how you learn I guess!
On a side note, not to be negative, but you do realize putting your fuel filter where you have it will require you to drop the tank or pull the bed to service it when the time comes, right? Just throwing that out there because these filter/regulators do go bad from time to time.
