Hahaha maybe I could work an angle on that saying the only problem is it's in Maine and I'd rather find something closer.

Exactly what I want to say. Maybe he didn't mean anything by it but it definitely came across as condescending.

Re: Looked at the 72 today

I would have taken it the same way as you.

If I were to answer him I would defiantly say yea... for that price I find them in better shape all day long.

You offered him a fair price. Thats what it would have went for around here also.

Well I felt like it was a fair price but I guess there is always a buyer out there who's willing to pay top dollar.

Re: Looked at the 72 today

Sadly, someone will not know what they are looking at and will gladly fork over the asking price thinking they are getting something special.

Re: Looked at the 72 today

Did you get a picture of the SPID for that cab? If its for a short bed, 402 then it's definitely less of a Frankentruck and the price is quite reasonable.

All of you guys saying there's better trucks out there for less, do us all a favor and post up the links.

I forgot to take a picture of the SPID but the 402, well it said 400, was listed as an option with that cab. Also had 400 emblems on the front fender.

Well, you're 1/3 of the way there, then. If the SPID shows 115" wheelbase and Cheyenne option then he's close to the money. If anyone here has one with those specs and wants to sell for the dollars they're throwing out here, I'll buy em all day long.

It showed the Cheyenne option but I can't remeber what the wheel base was.

I will definitely have to ask. Even though the bed and frame aren't true to the cab does it really make that much of a difference?

Re: Looked at the 72 today

I just wanted to bump this back to the top for a little more discussion. Since that 402 is original to the cab does that change the value of the truck? Zoomin got me thinking.

Re: Looked at the 72 today

In my opinion, the ultimate factory version of these trucks would be the 72 Cheyenne Super SWB with the 402. The ideal collectible would alson include bucket seats, tach, air and a ton of options.

Each of those items that a truck has makes it more valuable. Take away any of those items and the truck is not worth as much.
