New old guy.

Im new today, posting things all over the place then cant find them to edit or even read but here I go again. Just paid $1,200 for my short 78 GMC. I love it. Bought it to flip but the bug has got its teeth in me. Between forums like this and youtube and everything about these trucks, I can barely sleep thinking what I'd like to do with it. I guess its a 305 (but has Q jet) w th350. It'll run right down the road but both are 3/4 worn out. Ive had a local shop building me a 383 for about a year. Today, new Scat 5.7 rot assbly is in the 69 4 bolt. Budget will only let me start w iron Vortec relieved for .505? lift. 375hp+ will make me happy, whats someones opinion for valve train and intake? Body, paint and interior can wait. 4-5 lowering job as soon as I can manage. 61 year old long hair type who is medioker mechanic at best but love to study and learn and I like em low and fast and loud.
