Ignition switch plug?

Anyone have a good source for a new plug. I replaced my ignition switch and the battery connector area was melted and deformed. It's okay for the short run but I want a new one soon before it creates more problems for me. I noticed Brothers has one. Anybody use it yet and can give me their opinion of it? Thanks for your help.

I just installed a switch and a plug from LMC. Fixed all kinds of problems for me. No problems - yet.

You could just get high quality crimp on spade connectors too.

I know I could do that but I sort of like to keep the all in one connector plug thing going. I've got the Packard type 56 connectors but the plastic on the original plug is to far gone to keep in my truck. It would be great if someone just sold the plastic piece without wires. Bet your having some nice weather in Columbus? It doesn't get to bad in Maryland. At least not as bad as when I lived in Erie, PA as a kid.

I used the Packard type 56 connectors and as much original wire that I thought was still good. I don't know how my truck worked before. The 12V hot wire to the HEI was hooked on the accessories plug. Before I started putting the new plug in I didn't look at a wiring diagram and just wired it up the way the cowboy before me did.

What a mess. DO NOT just put crimp on connectors back there. That is what the cowboy who put my truck together did. After that HACK everybody after that who owned it put more stuff on the crimp on, pushed on connectors.

Buy the plug. Use the type 56 connectors the way the General intended it.

I put the hot HEI wire on the pink wire back there. Works like a champ. EVERY ignition related wiring problem I had went away.

Don't forget, if you don't use the plug what is there to keep some hoodlum from hot wiring your truck and driving off with it? Without the plug I could hot wire it in about 60 seconds or less.
