how big of tire ?

I have a tire size question. my truck has 255/60s all around now. Im planning on 275/60s on the rear.
If they'll fit Id even like 295/60s. anyone know if they'll fit my lowered stepside on stock 8" rim?
may be to tight, let me know please, John

Yes, either will fit just fine. Although I think a 8" wheel is a little narrow for the 295's.

275 will be pretty nice. It will raise the rear about 1.5". The 295's really need a 10" rim to look right and have a good footprint.

Does anyone make a 295/60? The 275's on 8's would look pretty good & I'm w/the others.... anything bigger needs a wider wheel.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

275/60'S have a 6 1/2" sidewall. A little tall for a lowered truck like yours, IMO. Maybe 295/50's?

Check this link out.

Then you need to lower the rear more

Too much rake and its not gonna drive well at all. Unless you only want to go in a straight line. BTW theres nothing wrong with that!

255/60's are 27" tall. 275/60's are 28" tall. So the overall effect will be 1/2" higher in the rear.

With stock 8" wheels, they have a 4" backspace. So, with a 10" wheel, anything from 5 to 6 inches works. A 5" BS would put the tire out 1" farther than stock, 6" would put it in the same place as stock. 5.5" would work well.

Well, since you're sitting at the top of a 27" tire, I would guess it's a 5/7.
