66 step side rear wheel not centered

I want to try to center the rear wheels in the fender of my 66 step side there way off. I lowered the rear 6" and slid the bed forward 3/4" know I'm paying the price.

I think I can cut 2" out between the diff and spring which should get me closer.

Has anyone done this?

looking at this last pic:
what if you used the front ubolt hole as your new back ubolt hole, and then drilled/cut a notch for a new front ubolt hole, and then welded a tube in there for the ubolt to go through?

The center of the step-side wheel well opening is located right around 1.25" further forward than its fleet-side counterpart. Add in the fact that you moved the bed forward another .75" and your 2" calculation should be pretty close.

It's going to take some thought and planning to make sure everything works right after moving the axle forward.

Things to keep in mind:

-Coil spring location/clearance at the axle pad (2" will put the coil spring pretty close to the axle saddle)

-Shock angle/clearance (with the lower shock mounting location being moved forward the angle on the mounting locations might not be ideal).

-Trac bar angle/length/clearance

I am sure you will run into a couple smaller issues/concerns, but these are the main ones that jump out.
