Anyone like these camper mirrors?
I dont know why, but these have grown on me. I have one on my truck that came with it when I bought it. never thought much of it, but i have taken a liking to it over the years.
They are made by a company called Coronado, and they have a curved backing with three raised chevron symbols. I have seen them on a lot of Idaho and Oregon farm trucks. Very similar to the west coast style mirrors, but with their own subtle touches. Anyone have any or know where i might get a pair? ![]() ![]() |

Actually the pictures i used for this post were from an ebay auction that i lost out on the last thirty seconds! I was sooo upset. I have been scouring the internet, craigslist, ebay for 6 months now. Im sure something will turn up soon.

murdoc, if you find a source, dont keep it to yourself. Those are the best looking I've seen so far. I'm not ready for any yet but they are still on my shopping list. I had just about settled on the west coast mirrors but they are just not quite right.

Re: Anyone like these camper mirrors?
wow thanks for the find Space Debris!
I think that Coronado sold to Chevy dealers back in the day and were dealer installed. Probably just another add on for the Camper and R.V. craze of that time. Im a sucker for chevron symbols, Ill keep u posted if I find anything else Mr. Anderson. |

Nothing stopping a dealer from installing an aftermarket mirror set.

Re: Anyone like these camper mirrors?
I love these mirrors as well and was on the hunt for them, but I'm not sure they will look good with the 60's Hot rod theme I am going with.

Re: Anyone like these camper mirrors?
Try http://www.retracmirrors.com/Product...duct_line.html for some that are just like the lower right ones in aerotruck63's pictures above, on page 29. I believe they are the original supplier to Chevrolet back then and are still in business. If you go to their pdf catalog on page 31, item 611706(21601) and 611708(21601), you will find them. I called them the other day, and they gave me a few local places to call to see about ordering them, since they do not sell direct to consumers. I called two places, and they were about $20 different from one place to the other, so make sure you call around. The less expensive place was about $70 each, but they had to order them. I have to wait awhile before I can get them, though. I had to pass on the ones in the classified section, bummed.

Re: Anyone like these camper mirrors?
The "west coast" type mirror was very popular on camper pickups. Many are aftermarket type, usually put on after a camper was installed. I prefer the ones with the cross arms, they reduce vibration, and are more sturdy.

Re: Anyone like these camper mirrors?
Yeah cross arms would be nice. Mine vibrate like crazy when the truck is idling. Once one the road it isn't to bad. Here is an after market set of mirrors on my 64. Not sure when they were bought...but I have seen them on other 3/4 ton trucks before, as far as I know these have been on there since the 60's, and with a little windex they shined right up! lol!

Re: Anyone like these camper mirrors?
T.J. MCCAULEY, I'm just wondering if the brackets to those Classic Truck Parts mirrors are stainless like the mirror heads? I really like the way they look. I was looking at some from a company called CIPA but only the mirror head is stainless and some of the reviews complained about rust soon after they were installed.
