Looking at this tomorrow

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/4178912246.html

May trade my miata for this. Look ok? What gears are normally in these 14 bolts? 4.10? Want to rig it to pull motors And I want a 67 small window to sit beside my 70. Watcha think?

Re: Looking at this tomorrow

Right? If its as nice as it seems it'll be mine!

Can anyone chime in? Is it just a lwb, with that boom set up on it? Could I fairly easily swap over a 10 bolt 3.08 - 3.42 gear and fleet side bed? If needed. Anyone got any info on c30 vs c10 that I may need to know? It'll pull a bass boat and possibly car trailer with my c10 on it. if the motor has enough pulling power of course. Any info would be great!

Re: Looking at this tomorrow

That C-30 will have leaf spring in the back vs Coil on the C10-20 making the rear end swap a bit different. Would have to change the gearing in that rear or find a donor leaf spring rear. Probably not that hard to find a rear end for it. I like that it has PTO on it. I could see myself setting up a hydraulic pump from it to run accessories. Personally if I could afford the fuel for it I would leave the rear end in it, maybe do some fabricating to get the boom powered up with a winch on it.

What would you say the rear is? 3.73 or 4.10? I don't mind welding in the brackets or whatever is nessasry for 10bolt.

Re: Looking at this tomorrow

Looks like its a 3.4? Or so! Rear end is from the 80s. It rocks on the highway. At 65 it only turns about 2200. Oh, I got it. lolol Got an average of 12 mpg roughly. Lots of traffic in there too. Has an old Holley on it, after adjusting the accelerator pump, putting vacuum advance In correct port and timing adjustment it runs great!

Re: Looking at this tomorrow

Very nice.... I had a 69 1 ton with the 305 V-6 in it, I wish that old girl got anywhere close to that. On the up side it would pull/carry anything you wanted to for sub 10MPG, just didn't want to go that far with it. LOL
