Re: Todays puzzler. What's it called.
Boo. The guy I got the rear end from, cut the cables about a foot in front of the drums. I was hoping to fab up a custom cable set up because I'm planning on changing my parking brake pedal to a lever.
Oh well, I guess I'll have to get replacement cables and go from there. Thanks for all the help! |

Conversely, '69 Nova rear cables run $25 each at The Right Stuff (Columbus, Ohio). If you told them the total length of the cable and sheave and the type of rear end I'm sure they could make a couple for you in about that price range. (Actually, you might be able to tell them the year of the truck and rear end type and they'd be able to figure it out.)

Re: Todays puzzler. What's it called.
PARK CABLE REMOVER TOOL,go buy the lisle tool or take 1 or 2 of them tiny give -away slotted screw drivers -bend one a little in the middle of the driver-slip it between the backing plate and cable -pry the outward clips inward and partially pry the cable towards the front of the vehicle-when it moves partially push in on the outward side clips and it should be somewhat out /so the clips are in the hole /so the cable will come out ? good luck mike
