Did Bell Tech used to be Bell Super Tech?
In looking closely at my '91 crew cab I think it has been lowered by a previous owner.
It is hard to get under it to get a good view, but it looks like the spindles say "Bell Super Tech". Anyone been around lowering trucks long enough to know anything about this?

Re: Dis Bell Tech used to be Bell Super Tech?
I searched Google, and looks like Bell Super Tech had (has) the same address as Bell Tech does now. I would say they are an old pair of Bell Tech spindles.
Never seen that before though. I am sure Bell Tech can confirm if that is their spindle. |

Re: Dis Bell Tech used to be Bell Super Tech?
I posted something to there FB page, but no responce?
It is kind of odd, because this truck was owned by an old man that was in his 90's when he died about two years ago and was sold by his heirs. It had a camper on it when I went to look at it so it sat level, and they said that the camper had been on the truck as long as they could remember. It looks to have lowering shackles on the rear which is why I started looking at the front. I can only speculate that he wanted the truck lower to be easier to get in an out of? Bonus for me as I was planning on going this direction anyways!

Re: Did Bell Tech used to be Bell Super Tech?
If I remember correctly, it was Bell Super Tech back when they were building dropped axles for street rods. Later when they got in to the sport Truck craze with their dropped spindles they changed to Bell Tech.

Re: Did Bell Tech used to be Bell Super Tech?
The street rod side was called Super Bell, and it was started by Jim Ewing back in the mid-70s. Jim branched out to truck suspension parts and named that side of the business BellTech. Jim sold all of the street rod stuff to Victor Leon, who owns Magnum Axle. Jim was a wild and crazy guy, and he died in a plane crash in the early '90s, and I'm not sure if the BellTech company is still owned by the Ewing family or if it's owned by someone else.
Back in the day, BellTech made the best stuff. In my opinion, I think they still do. I've changed out more spindles than I can count, and BellTech and Western always made the best drop spindles.
