New guy with a question. I just bought a 1971 Chevy LWB 4x4. My project truck. Right now, I am considering putting some new seats in it. The original bench seat is ripped up and it doesn't have much/any cushion left. I am looking at some seats out of a '95 Chevy truck to put in it. Anybody done this? Pics? Thanks for any feedback. Great site BTW!!!

I did this on my 1970 GMC LWB 4x4. Mine was a 96 chevy seat.

It fit with a little trimming on the driver side bracket and drilling new holes in the cab floor. My only gripe is that you sacrifice a little legroom (what little there was to start with) and there is interference with the 4x4 stick with the seat pulled forward (not an issue with me, but shorter folks it could be).

My suggestion would be to find an 88-9? Chevy seat that has a thinner back so it doesn't compromise legroom.

Wes from Classic heartbeat in the north west has a son that makes a bracket for that, that looks real good and does real nice in there I had some pics and they had been lining out the production when I got stalled on that project so we lost track of the idea but he has them and he is a vendor here. Ill be doing some sort of seat change in the future so I always read threads like these when they pop up.
From what Ive read most bench seats from mid 80's to mid 90's chevy trucks will fit with a little modification.

I put the seat from a '96 in my '87, and I, too, found that I had to sacrifice a bit of leg room.

Have seen on this site (see Glider6969 posted 2-18-2011) a 71 C10 with seat from 2002 Silverado. Liked the built in 3 passenger seat belts including shoulder belt. Killing 2 birds with one rock.
Just a thought.

I put a power 40/20/40 out of an '06. Killed two birds with one stone as mentioned.

Also from a mid 90's Chevy...

A good decision although there was a bit of drilling and reinforcement under the cab involved.

There not In my truck, just found the truck for sale at a local classic car lot. I'm sticking with the good old 67/8 buddies

Not for everybody.

But I got these leather power seats along with the 60/40 back seat from an '04 Blazer. Cost was $450 shipped a few years ago.
I sold these buckets to a bud for $100 and put the 60/40 in another truck...that I also sold.

Then, my friend brought these back to me as an "interior-warming" present.
Wouldn't take the $100.

I had some luck with a nice set of cloth Camaro seats in a '72.

My woman is asking me to put a bench seat back in...Here's a pic. We bought it for $160 from a Forum Member and it has just
been re-done.
