Thanks for all the comments. I have five K20s at the moment. It is an addiction.

They are Western or American Racing wheels. I have the turbine wheels on two of my trucks. I think the one that I am painting tomorrow has the Westerns. They are similiar to each other. I'll have to measure the width because I can't remember. I don't think they make ether one anymore and I had to look a long time to find them.

I'd like to find some aluminum wheels for me 85 C20 though.

Dean, that truck is gorgeous, is it the one that used to be green?

Let me know if you find anymore VW's up there anywhere. I have driven the one I bought from you all over the state of Florida. I get a lot of compliments on it.

Keep up the good work.

seacrow - i'm in the middle of painting the green one right now. I have everything trimmed out. I need to post some pics of the progress.

I think my blue one was in my dad's garage when you were up.

Good to hear on that old VW. Not many of them left around here. Did you have to pull out the transmission because of that scrape into 2nd gear? Did you have to do any other stuff since it had been sitting so long? Exhaust I'm sure. I liked the fact that it was all original and not hacked up.

Dean, post pics of the green one when you are done. IN fact, post pics of all of them. You do nice work.

The problem with the VW is the second gear synchro. It does not grind if I double clutch second gear. The only things I've done to it are new tires, new german muffler, I put in a new clutch, points, plugs, and several gas filters. I also had to re-replace the front wheel cylinders, for some reason the new ones you had put on blew up.

I have found out some stuff about the bug. The liscense plate holder on the front bumper, the bumper guards, the chrome trim behind the door handles and the chrome bravel guards on the rear fender are all original dealer add ons. One guy at a show told me to never get rid of the bumper guards even if I didn't like them. He said he had only ever see one other set.

I love the bug, it'll cruise down I-75 at 65 mph and it runs like a top. It's gonna get torn apart for a redo early next year. I also found original Florida tags for 70-71 that are one digit apart. One for the GMC and one for the bug.

You've got my dad checking out traffic signals and antique tractors now.
