It is a direct bolt in. On some conversions you may have to make the rear hole in the headlight bucket a little bigger, depends on the brand of headlight, I used Hellas, they had a large dust boot, so I had to enlarge the hole, we used cheaper ones on another truck and they had small dust boots and the hole was fine, but the small dust boots were pretty shabby, I like my Hellas a lot better. I upgraded my wiring and went with relays so I could run power straight from the battery, but that is because I am running 80/100 watt bulbs. Not exactly DOT approved but I have them adjusted so they aren't in drivers' eyes. With standard bulbs you should be fine.
