Bit of a mutt but looks to be a great deal

Saw this truck up north - looks really solid if you like 1 tons - hard to lose on

I have ZERO need for a 1 ton truck but wow, I'm tempted to call about that!

I may just anyway....

Re: Bit of a mutt but looks to be a great deal

I just called the guy, seems like a winner. He's the same guy that posted the pics of that "survivor" gold truck with the camper shell on CL a few weeks ago.....it's been a thread on here.

Anyway, the owner jsut wants to sell it, he bought it from another guy, and has lowered the price. The poster is not the owner but a friend....we both figured mpg to be about 6 miles to the gallon.

IF it was closer to me, say a couple hundred miles, I might would get it, but WTFreak am I going to do with a 12' flat bed????

Unless I'm missing something here... but that looks like a 1968 front clip? Unless the 1 tons kept that grill and hood through the 70's. ???

Is is a '68 front clip, that's why I put 'mutt' in the title of the thread. Still looks clean though, and if I had a place to put it...

Looks like the front clip was gold, and so is the firewall. maybe its a 68 with a 71 registration.

Interesting battery hold down...... maybe theft is a problem in the area the truck came from?

Re: Bit of a mutt but looks to be a great deal

I'm gonna say that truck is not a '71. It doesn't have the raised bosses on the roof for the cabs that all 1 tons '69 - '72 had. It has the old aftermarket style cab lights. It also has the Custom emblems on the doors and 67 - 68 trim(not that they couldn't have been added).

I'd love to an interior shot to see what E brake lever it has, or if it has disc brakes...

In the same boat here. I'd love to have a 3/4 or 1 ton around for grunt duty. Just no room for it at the moment.
