A Holley 390 CFM on a Clifford or Offenhauser 4bbl intake will be your best 'performance' choice. Or have your original rebuilt by a reputable place. I personally didn't take any of my own advice and built a MegaSquirt fuel injection system for my 250.. You can guess which is cheaper and simpler..
