Disk Brake Dust Shield Question

I just got the new spindles for my disk install. I also got the dust shields. My spindles are not predrilled to mount the shields, is this normal and if so what size hole and tap thread do I use.

Mine are attatched with 14-20 bolts about 3/8 inch long. You could just not install them at all. I know a lot of people do that.

Jmanz69 Yea I might not put them on. Don't like drilling on new spendles. You would think they should tell you this before you buy.

I would check with the manufacturer. I've never seen a spindle that wasn't drilled for dust shields. Probably just a slip-up in manufacturing and not a necessity, but still, what if you wanted to add shields later?
