Trying to find origin of a 396
I am trying to find out where a 396 I have for my 64 c10 originated from. Here is the info I have. Block casting 3985440 and the numbers in front of pass side head T0814YS. Thanks for your help!

Re: Trying to find origin of a 396
Could the number be 393 instead of 398?

Re: Trying to find origin of a 396
YS decodes as a 366. Not a 396. If there's about 1/2 inch between the top of your water pump and the head then it could be a tall deck 366.
