Wiring my LED done light.

Required my truck and am tackling my dome light. Used the EZ Wire 21 circuit. As of right now, I've just been running power from the fuse box, then running the other side straight to ground. It only lights up when I'm trying to crank the truck over. Makes me think I have the ignition switch wired wrong. Any help? I can go back outside and tell post up what wires are going where. I did tie 2 of them together on one post, just can't remember which two. Also when I turn the truck off, a noise comes from the starter like it's trying to engage again (if that helps).
