Re: Picked up this 68 GMC swb last weekend.
That truck sat at a shop in Brazito, MO. I have seen it several times.

Hey Marty. The blower motor does work, just ran a hot wire to it and it runs fine. Thanks, Fred.

Re: Picked up this 68 GMC swb last weekend.
Thanks. It is no show truck by no means but i think it just looks more finished, something I would not be shamed to be seen out cruising in. Hope the new owner feels the same way, from the conversation we had, I think he does. The red wheels are not my style but they just felt right on this one.

Re: Picked up this 68 GMC swb last weekend.
Yes it is no show truck but I love its stance the flat black rat rod look, already have some pin striping, blue dots, dice for the door locks and valve stems, thin trim rings for the wheels, blanket style seat cover , about 10 cans of undercoating, and about 20 cans of color for the interior. Going with an off white and bronze for the interior.
I have the patch panels on their way for the damaged areas. This is going to be fun! Cant wait! Fred the driver had a problem with the dispatcher, on picking it up, they assured me it would be picked up, Ill let you know when I know something! Marty |

Re: Picked up this 68 GMC swb last weekend.
Not a problem. The truck is fine sitting here. It seems like there is always a problem with all the transport companies we have dealt with. Just remember, the lowest bid on shipping is usually not the best deal.

Fred
Not so much the cheapest but apparently the driver was trying to fill his truck with another un contracted vehicle when the dispatcher gave him mine to pick up, oh boy! Marty |

Well, the Russian mafia just took possession of the 68. I sure hope it makes it to Jersey. I had to show them what a three on the tree was. They thought I was a customizing genius.

Not quite. The only thing any has ever considered me a genius at was BBQ, but if you feed someone, they will say whatever you want to hear.

Re: Picked up this 68 GMC swb last weekend.
This 68 makes me wish I was working on the 70 Longhorn 400/400 that is getting swapped to a 71 swb stepside. It is a "patina" truck. I am about 90% done with my dad's 72 swb step that was a nut and bolt body off frame resto. It's nerve racking worrying about scratching the pretty paint!

Ain't that the truth. Up here, pork is the main meat of choice but I am very proud of the brisket my smoker turns out.

Re: Picked up this 68 GMC swb last weekend.
Well
After a bit of "tuning" here and there... Minor tearing the interior apart here are the results... Have a new seat cover to put on yet, gotta fix the spring in the seat, new floor mat for the entire cab floor on the way, then bump out the damage on the drivers side. More to come! Marty |

Man Marty. The trim rings look good on there and I love the interior colors. You are doing a great job with it. Keep at it.
