3/4 ton springs????
I think the springs on my k10 are starting to sag a little. Well it will be awhile before i can do any of this, but i was curious. Could i put 3/4 ton springs on my 1/2 ton. WOuld it raise it much? Would they just bolt in, or would there be a lot of fabrication.
thanks

Here is a pic of my original 3/4 ton springs. There are a total of 6 leaves and then there is a stock block that is also in the pack. I am relatively certain you can just bolt on a set of these, but you probably will need new u-bolts.

ive done it on the later model years as long as the length of the springs are the same youll need to use the larger U bolts too on the truck and youll have to make sure your rear brake line has enough clearance
im actually going to leave the rears in the 76 im building cause i use it tow alot

63-72 c10 and c20 trucks have leaf packs separated 42.5" center to center, the 4x4's these years were the same as 1 ton spacing at 40"

that seems like it would work. I dont care about lifting it, i just want heavier duty springs for towing and hauling stuff.

Keep in mind it will also ride rougher....but if you tow and haul alot of stuff, go for it.

like i said, it may be a little while before i can sqeeze the old bank account for that. I just figured that i am going to need to replace the old springs sooner of later, so why not try and put 3/4 ton ones on.
Has anybody just swapped the springs out. No blocks or anything. any pics??

Just get an add a leaf for about $60 a set, and install them. I added one to the rear of my truck plus replaced the 1" block w/ a 2" block. Pics in link in sig.
