67-68 side trim
I've been looking at doing the factory 67-68 side trim on my 67 and been looking at picking up used parts, but what I need to know before I start spending money on the used stuff is. Did they come with screw holes or is the ones I've seen with them just something that someone did to hold it to the truck when a clip broke?

Re: 67-68 side trim
They all came with hidden clips. However after the first clip failure or reprint, I've seen black sheetmetal screws in the black strip to replace the clips.

Re: 67-68 side trim
By the time you piece together a Used set of these you probably could go to Mar-K and get a complete new set... There moldings are the only ones made here in the USA and are stamped from the original GM molds... MAR-K makes them in their Oklahoma Facility... Mike Loshes "Cloud 9" has a set on it and I have a set sitting in my Garage to go on my 67 Build...

Re: 67-68 side trim
I don't know what look you are shooting for slowtruck. If you are looking for a slightly used look, you could lay some black tape over the hole. You could also put a screw there too. It's really up to you.

Re: 67-68 side trim
I'm building a driver, but don't want to be putting screws/tape on one side and not the other side. I will just keep looking for them without any holes and if I can't put together a set I will look into getting a new set.

Re: 67-68 side trim
Good Luck on your search..the cost as you already know is what makes most of them disappear on builds. 3M trim double sided tape is a good product available at any decent paint shop, a good alternative.
A few years ago I seen a truck leave a salvage yard with a flat bed truck loaded to the sky in nothing but stainless trim going to a recycle yard. Afraid most of it was 50's, 60's type trim.
