Hood Hinge Rebuild Recommendation

I just want to give anybody heads up if your looking to get your hood hinges rebuilt. I just got mine done by Wilson Antique Parts out of Forest, VA. He did an awesome job with fast turn around time. I was having a heck or a time getting my hood to line up with the fenders and grill and it just wouldn't shut very good. I sent my hinges to Willie at Wilson Antique Pats to get rebuilt and when I got them back and installed them my hood was a perfect fit and shut very smooth. Needless to say I am very impressed with his work and would absolutely use him again. Check him out www.hoodhingerepair.com

Re: Hood Hinge Rebuild Recommendation

Awesome thanks for the info. What did the repair cost you and what was done to rebuild them?

Re: Hood Hinge Rebuild Recommendation

Super good information. I rebuilt mine myself, but if I'd known then, I would have defiantly sent them out.

Re: Hood Hinge Rebuild Recommendation

Thanks for link - rare to find someone that does this stuff. just buying new hinges does not always make things any better. tip about using Sea Foam Deep Creep is a good thing to know too.

Cool Re: Hood Hinge Rebuild Recommendation

Bought mine about 2 years ago now.
Very nice customer service and Willie is a great guy.

Here is the thread on it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Hood Hinge Rebuild Recommendation

tried the Sea Foam Deep Creep lubricant on hood hinges - really worked good, better than WD-40, silicone, etc
