Big Block Long Tubes on a 67' ?

Does anyone make a set of long tubes that fit well (don't hang way down) for a 67'? I just bought a 67 with a 454 that has a set of Hedman HTC long tubes that are just waiting to get schwacked by the nearest speed bump. Looking for someething that more closely follows the underside contour.

From what I've read, 70 chevelle headers may fit. I have two sets in my shop that I will be able to try, but I'm still a ways out from getting my 496 done.

Automatics should work. We can't find a set of headers off the shelve for a 454 4 speed.

I used these on the White '67 with a 454.

They aren't fancy but they did not hang down. You can't really see it in the picture, (you can just barley see it behind the center of the front tire) but all of the pictures I have were taken in the grass...

I notice it says in the ad "not available" but it lists a Flowmaster equivalent.

Edit: Oh, and it has a TH400 in it...

Re: Big Block Long Tubes on a 67' ?

These headers are in your truck with BBC manual 4 speed?
Do they clear the bell crank and clutch linkage? That is where our trouble starts.
Willie.

Just to stay on track here...I as the OP for this thread have a built 700R transmission...not a 4 speed manual

Re: Big Block Long Tubes on a 67' ?

I have Headman long tubes on the '72 Blazer and they hang too low... haven't "BONGED" 'em yet but I'm sure I will. It's manual shift and the PO installed a hyd. clutch so no Z-bar - linkage interference problems. Hyd. throw-out bearing has a very nice feel/release.
