Will this work and look good?
Im still trying to figure out just how big pf wheel and tire combo i can run on my 72 lwb chevy. Its in stock stance. I want the rear lowered to make the truck look level and then put some 20x8.5 rims pn the front with 255/35r20 tires. On the back some 20x10 with some 265/35r20s. Will i have any problems bolting these up and steering or driving it? I would have to get 3 inch drop springs for the rear? Im ok with chopping my wheel wells. Also will the tires look good the sizes i mentioned? Please help im planning on dropping 3000 in this truck. Really want to just order the right thing the first time. All help is appreciated.

Re: Will this work and look good?
Heres some picks of my rat rod. I want to have a cheap drop and have enough clearance with no rake. Im a fan of the rake style with the bigger wheels in back, but not its for me im thinking as a hotrod fan who wants to have a ratty truck with SICK wheels! I just got a truck cover for it from lmc. A new seat reupholstery kit black. I was thinking 18 inch rims all the way around but then i thought more on it and think that if im getting wheels this might (im hoping) be the last time i ever have the cash in hand to get the wheels of my dreams. Ive always wanted a brand new shiney chrome set of torque thrust Is. 20s seem to be best choice. I Like torque thrust IIs, boss motorsports 338s, Coys or lately im considering the boss 304s they remind me of a new aged keystone classic im going to order a new exhaust and tonneau cover then do my best on the rest of the body work little at a time. It has a 305 in it with a mild cam, soon to be two barrel holley carb, three speed switched to the floor. New clutch. All new seals. Very reliable truck! What do you think? Should this be a build thead?

Re: Will this work and look good?
Both of those sizes will fit, just make sure to get the right offset on the wheels.

But here's a "quickie" on your basic description. May still have a little rake. And, I gave you rusty disks front and rear behind your 20" Boss 338's. You'd probably want more tire on the back. I was lazy. And this isn't a refined shot. Just one to give you an idea. I *did* take the liberty of getting rid of a couple of extra cars. And, I hope the neighbors aren't mad that I ripped off their laundry hanger thingy.

Re: Will this work and look good?
TY magwakeenercew2jh!!! I photoshop a bit myself you did a great job!!! I do have rusty discs up front and drums in the back. Eventually plan on converting the rears to disc there os a website that interested me. I dunno if youve seen it yet. Here is the link to the wheel visualiser. http://www.bigotires.com/Wheel-Visualizer
It doesnt have the option to go with 20 inch wheels so you saved me some hassle heres some of the screenshots. The blue one I ps chopped a bit So i want to do a cheap drop. Whats a cheap route to go pn a 4/6 inch drop? Backspacing good on the wheels I chose? Sorry just curious. |

Re: Will this work and look good?
I like these wheels too. They look like 20s on a longbed. Might be 18s. The red 72 posted by outofmoney

Re: Will this work and look good?
I found this link. I like the 20s how they look on jarwoods truck. I might go with a wider rim and tire in the rear. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=471442&page=4

Re: Will this work and look good?
I think the stance is okay. The wheels look a little big, though.

Re: Will this work and look good?
If i can figure out how to make it look like the pic i posted two pics up i would go with that and lower it later. What do u think 20s or 22s?

Re: Will this work and look good?
Sorry i been all over the place changing my mind a lot. Hows this. I want to keep my stock stance. I would like to buy 20 inch rims all the way around. I like the boss 304s. They only have these on summit with 8.5 wide. I plan to call them and try to special order the 8x10 in hopes to achieve wider rims in the rear. The backspacing listed on the 8.5 wide rims is 5.25. The tires ive selected so far are 275/45 yokohoma spectres.
The plan is to see some pics of trucks that are stock height with 20 inch wheels. I like the deeper looking rims on the back. Im still searching the forum. Most times i find specs but no offset most times. I would like to eventually make the truck look level stance. I know nothing about tires and backspacing. |

Re: Will this work and look good?
If i go with 20s on the front and 22s on back. Is there any tire combo that will clear enough to drive it after mounting them?
